The May edition of Home & Living magazine will be available to pick up from these locations
Welcome to the May 2025 issue of Home & Living!
The recently rebranded Home & Living Magazine, known for the last two decades in southwest Spain as the Costa Calida Chronicle, has been supplying useful local information of interest to a loyal readership base for all that time. It is available to pick up at dozens of locations across the southwest of Spain this May, as well as to view online.
The magazine was recently acquired by Spain Today Online to try to increase the distribution, usefulness and to be able to offer even better news and information services to the local community.
In this month’s edition you will find inspiration and excitement in exploring intelligent and creative design – think of well-organised dressing rooms (it could even be a spare room), to create an area free from clutter. Perhaps you’re tired of your outside areas? Fret not, as Home & Living shows you how by making a few changes to your outside pool and terraces you could almost create your own private sanctuary, plus ways to give you that “posh” kitchen look without spending a fortune. You will also find a few tricks on how to obscure that pet smell in your home, so that visitors (and even yourself) won’t even know you have one!
That all sounds wonderful right? But don’t forget the practicalities of making major changes to your home. Read the article on page 14 by Martinez de la Casa to ensure what you have in mind doesn’t contravene licensing laws in your municipality.
If you have funds to invest, you won’t want to miss advice from Blacktower Financial Management on page 23 to discover there are pension schemes and tax benefits, as well as investment bonds available, aimed at optimal returns and tax efficiency.
Don’t forget to pop this event in your diary..... TKO Radio (who own Home & Living magazine and Murcia Today news portal) is the number one station across the Costa Blanca and is extending its coverage across the Costa Cálida. To celebrate the expansion, the TKO Radio Roadshow arrives at La Manga Club’s La Quinta premier vacation resort on May 28, broadcasting all day across the Costa Cálida from 12pm until late. A fun event for all the family with food and drink, raffle tickets for fabulous prizes (in aid of a children’s cancer charity), photo-shoots, dancing, quizzes, prize giveaways and games in and out of the heated pool. More information on page 26.
If you’re thinking of booking a holiday (or maybe you already have?) and are wondering how to get to and from Corvera airport with no stress, you’ll need to visit page 29 as Airport Buses commence their brand new airport shuttle service from May 22 offering 3 scheduled routes and 60 stops. From just €8.99 per person, there’s no excuse not to travel in style and you can leave your worries at home, travelling with confidence. Discounts available for group bookings, children under the age of 16 and for all bookings taken before the end of May.
Maybe you have moved to Spain recently and haven’t got round to registering your vehicle on to Spanish plates? Car Registrations Spain explain on page 38 how they can help you with temporary import plates (known as green plates) to allow you to drive legally whilst waiting for completion of the permanent registration.
Remember also to check out the “What’s On” feature – essential if you don’t want to miss charity events, music nights, bingo meetings, markets, group gatherings, local and national holidays, fiestas, drama performances, church services and loads more!
Everyone at some stage needs a builder, emergency electrician, translator, accountant, gardener, car mechanic, insurance company, legal services, property sales/management company, removal company, to name a few. Visit our Business Directory to find what you need and don’t forget to mention where you found them!
All this and much more in this in this month’s issue of Home & Living!
