New Remembrance garden on Camposol Sector C
New Remembrance garden completed on Camposol Sector C in time for Remembrance Day
A new Remembrance garden has been constructed on Camposol’s Sector C in time for Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day which falls on the following Monday.
The new garden was commissioned by the Green fingers gardening group, a collection of volunteers who operate on C Sector of the urbanisation. The garden has been built to replace a previous model which was fenced off when a building company took possession of the land where it was situated in April 2024.
The new garden is situated at the entrance to Sector C near the bridge over the rambla that seperates sectors B and C. It is on a raised platform and is adorned with a blanket of poppies, the soldier silhouettes from the previous garden and remembrance crosses, the sale of which has raised over €400 for the Royal British Legion in Spain to help ex-servicemen and women.
Green Fingers President John Osbourne praised the effort put into the garden’s construction, with help provided by local building company Megarsa, the Green Fingers group who purchased the materials and a special thanks for the work of volunteers Kev, Andy, Alan, Ken and Paul.
The Royal British Legion has announced that it will be holding a minute’s silence at the garden at 12.00 noon local time on Monday, November 11.
