Murcia's private hospitals among the best rated in the country, new study reveals
Region comes in third nationally, with HLA Hospital La Vega leading the way
If you've ever wondered how the Region's private hospitals stack up against the rest of Spain, the answer is rather reassuring. Murcia has come in third out of all Spain's autonomous communities for private hospital ratings, according to the '2026 Private Hospital Reputation Study' from local SEO and reputation consultancy Adentity, beaten only by the Valencian Community and Andalucía.The region scored an average of 3.597 out of 5, comfortably above the national average of 3.494. A large part of that strong showing comes down to one hospital in particular. HLA Hospital La Vega achieved a weighted average of 4.53 out of 5, placing it third among all private hospitals in the entire country. It's also racked up 9,466 reviews, more than any other hospital in the region and one of the largest review counts in the whole study.
The rest of Murcia's top five make for interesting reading too. Hospital Mesa del Castillo takes second place regionally with a score of 3.776, just ahead of Ribera Hospital in Molina on 3.764. Hospital Quirónsalud Murcia follows with 3.635, while Hospital Viamed San José in Alcantarilla rounds out the top five with 3.622. Worth noting is just how far ahead HLA Hospital La Vega sits, with more than seven tenths of a point separating it from second place, a gap big enough to lift the region's entire average on its own.
The study itself draws on a huge amount of patient feedback. Across Spain, Adentity looked at 388,167 Google reviews covering 333 private hospitals, a jump of 39% compared to the 278,437 reviews recorded in 2015. That growing willingness among patients to leave reviews has coincided with rising standards too, with the national average rating climbing from 3.42 to 3.494 over the same period.
To keep things fair, Adentity based its rankings on the Ministry of Health's National Hospital Catalogue, current as of December 31, 2025, and only included hospitals with an active Google Business Profile and at least 20 reviews. Rather than a simple average, the consultancy used a weighted score that factors in both the rating and the number of reviews, giving a more balanced picture between hospitals with very different review volumes.
