December 5 The more intimate side of Ledwig van Beethoven in Águilas
The Tempus Trio perform the Gassenhauer Trio by Beethoven at the seafront auditorium in Águilas
The new A Tempo season of classical music events continues in Águilas on Saturday 5th December with a programme which offers a more intimate view of Beethoven, setting aside for a moment the monumental image of the great symphonist. In his piano trios we encounter a composer fascinated by instrumental dialogue, the art of variation and the possibilities of turning a simple musical idea into something full of character and invention.
The Tempus Trío explore some of Beethoven’s most intimate pieces in one of his first works for a piano trio, the Gassenhauer Trio (1797-98). The three musicians are María Tió (violin), Ferrán Bardolet (cello) and Ricard Rovirosa (piano), and are enjoying considerable international success, having made their debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2024 after winning the Golden Classic Music Awards.
The recital precedes the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death in 2027.
Tickets for the concert, which begins at 20.00, are available at 20 euros online here as well as through the auditorium box office and at the local Archaeological museum and the Casa de la Cultura.
In addition, season tickets for all of the five events scheduled between 30th October and 20th December can be purchased at 75 euros here.
