Contact awarded for panoramic elevator in Puerto de Mazarron seafront
The contract to install a panoramic elevator and to improve accessibility on the Peñasco promenade in Puerto de Mazarrón has been awarded
The contract approval process has been successfully completed and the necessary documentation has already been drawn up ready for signing in the coming days for the installation of a lift to imporve accessibility between the seafront of Playa del Rihuete and the Paseo del Peñasco, which stands on an outcrop above, in Puerto de Mazarrón.
According to the documentation, the project will cost 687,868.33 euros inlcuding VAT.
This initiative is one of the objectives of Mayor Ginés Campillo to improve accessibility and mobility for the inhabitants of Mazarrón and visitors, the installation of an elevator facilitating access for people with reduced mobility, the elderly, and families. In addition, it will guarantee a safer and more comfortable environment, which will reduce the risk of accidents and increase the quality of life of residents and visitors
Mayor Campillo has previously expressed his pride in making the project a reality: "This proposal has been a personal project for years. I am sure that it will solve problems and help the inhabitants, as reflected in the historical demand of the neighbours to improve accessibility between Avenida Narciso Yepes and Calle Viriato, where currently people with reduced mobility face great difficulties due to the existence of only one staircase and the steep Paseo del Peñasco. with a slope of about 9 metres".
